“Commit yourself to random acts of inspiration, followed up by frequent moments of motivation!” – Futurist Jim Carroll
People always ask me – how do you come up with ideas, study the future, or identify what gets in the way of creative thinking?
It’s probably the presence of rules, structure and routine. These things get you into a mindset that doesn’t’ allow you think about or explore the the offbeat, crazy, wild ideas that will define your world.
Other people don’t pursue those crazy ideas, because it leads them to a future they fear, rather than an opportunity to be pursued.
My job on stage involves getting them beyond that fear, and into a mindset of possibility. That involves tossing regular streams of inspiring ideas throughout my talk, with a relentless message that the time to act is now.
It’s not a motivational talk and I’m not a motivational speaker – I’m a futurist who helps organizations and individuals discover the power that comes from a focus on the future. Albeit, I do it in a very inspirational and motivational way!
Let’s just say – I’m a motivational futurist!
Go out today, and practice getting into the same mindset. Look at every moment around you and find some inspiration in what you see. Use that to get into a more positive frame of mind. And once you do that, share that positivity with others – be a motivational influence!
