In Western culture, the day after Christmas is known as #BoxingDay.

Without getting into the origins of the name, I will say that the old cliche about “thinking outside of the box” came into my mind about 3 am this morning!

Yesterday we had a wonderful time at the theatre production, “Million Dollar Quartet,” courtesy of our sons and their girlfriends. Thank you!
It’s the story of when Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins were together in the studio for a few hours – it was magical.

And since I’m relentless on the #future, #creativity and #inspiration, I’m always listening carefully. I don’t remember the context, but a line like this was used about half way through. I remember thinking – “that’s it!” My phone was off — #theater#etiquette – so I spent the next 45 minutes while watching, repeating the phrase to myself to make sure I wouldn’t lose the thought!

Ski season is about to start! It will be my 18th year as a skier – I only took it up at the age of 39. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, and was the master of the snowplow for a time. Now, I’m decent enough. The next several months will be spent with weekends on the slopes, rounds of golf in the south, and various keynotes in between.

Skiing was an incredibly important decision — it *really* took me out of my comfort zone. But you need to do that – often it’s the only way to get ahead.
