@michelleholmesgolf is a superstar in the world of golf.

I wrote about her in my post last year, “The 8 Best Things Happening in Growing Golf Right Now”. She’s a PGA professional & golf instructor, introducing young kids to the joy of the game at her home course in Virginia. (She’s also got a wicked Irish accent. I could listen to her talk for days….)

Her Instagram feed is full of smiling kids, fascinating tips and tidbits on getting them interested in golf, coaching and teaching tips, and photos of their absolute joy when they succeed at something.  It’s a joy to watch what she does with these young children!

That is, until she lost her account to a hacker some 6 weeks back. She couldn’t get in. It was renamed; inaccessible. It was still there but the traditional support channel was unresponsive. You could tell she was pretty devastated by her loss of the account.

As one of the new innovative minds in golf, social media is central to a lot of her activities in reaching out to both parents and children, drawing them into the game. The PGA of America needs to pay attention to what she is doing because she is the future of the game!

She had over 15,000 followers – an invaluable asset in this era in which connectivity is oxygen. It was obvious that she was in despair while watching her post to a new account – that had neither the reach nor the history of the old account.

I had a chance to help her by calling in a favor from an old friend who could get me an inside connection into the vast, sprawling machine that is Facebook and Instagram. We had a lot of back and forth, but I am thrilled to say that as of yesterday at noon, she has her original account back.

I’m as happy as a golfer with a hole in one!

Her joy at being back is infectious!

When you have a chance to be kind to someone – go for it.
