Jim Carroll delivered a keynote for Cruise Lines International Association in Miami, in October 2015. As mobile-first travelers demanded seamless, connected experiences from booking to disembarkation, Jim explored how the cruise industry could turn rising guest expectations and IoT-enabled ships into a competitive advantage rather than a cost center.
Keynote: APICS, Las Vegas – The Acceleration and Disruption of Retail
What is APICS? It’s the leading organization involved in supply chain, logistics and operations management issues. They had me headline their annual conference, with an audience of about 2,000 executives for major CPG and other companies. The future of retail, robotics, the end of inventory, Amazon everywhere (obviously), smart, intelligent, connected packaging. You name it – I covered it! Kind of a fun event, because the other keynote was Jack Welch of GE.

Keynote: Kiewit, Las Vegas – Building Tomorrow: Innovation in Construction and Infrastructure
Jim Carroll delivered a keynote for Kiewit in Las Vegas, in October 2015. With modular construction, 3D-printed components, and digital project management tools starting to reshape how mega-projects get built, Jim explored how construction and engineering giants like Kiewit could out-innovate a historically slow-moving industry.
Keynote: Practice Match, Las Vegas – Physician Recruitment in the Era of Digital Intimacy
I take on a LOT of highly customized keynotes – and that is why I am so different from so many other speakers. And yet this one was a really unique one with a very unique question – how do you recruit the next generation doctor? My client, PracticeMatch, is in that industry, and want to challenge their team to get inside the head of the newly graduated 28 year old physician. So – I took them there! Read the lengthy blog post “Physician Recruitment in the Era of Digital Intimacy” that I wrote on around what I covered in this keynote.

Keynote: Optima Health, Williamsburg, VA – Back to The Future in Healthcare, Today!
If you are a health care insurer, you’ll probably want your leadership event to get away from the never ending topic of healthcare reform, and take a look at the real scientific, technological, demographic and other trends taking us into the future. That’s because a lot of the opportunity for cost savings driven from innovation comes from these trends. And so – Optima Health. They Brough me in for an event that was right around the future date as set in the Back to Tomorrow movie, and so my keynote played into that them.
Keynote: Sports & Fitness Industry Association, New Orleans – Interactive Technology, Disruption and the Future of Sports
It’s always a fun event when Roger Goodell, the Commissioner of the NFL follows you on stage. I was the opening keynote for this event, the second time they’ve had me in. (They were previously known as the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, and had me in for a talk in 2006.) My talk took a look at trends involving the future of sports, including smart clothing, the next generation of Mom 3.0 and how this impacts the growth of particular sports, hyperconnected sports equipment (think baseball bats with embedded chips), genomic based sports medicine and countless other trends.
