“The best thing about yesterday is that it’s in the past. The greatest thing about the future – it’s tomorrow! And you only get to change one of them – through what you choose to do today!” – Futurist Jim Carroll

Video: The Acceleration of Trends in Automotive and Trucking
Here’s a video clip in which I’m speaking on stage at a trucking conference in Phoenix about just how quickly things are happening in the world of intelligent, self-driving vehicles.
Including why penguins are so important!

I can be hopelessly disorganized at some things, but ruthlessly creative in the engine of my mind. I might have challenges planning what I might need to be doing 20 minutes from now because I’m too busy thinking about what might happen 20 years from now.
The life of a futurist is sometimes spent in a different time zone, and so we need some forgiveness on the fact that we lack most basic organizational skills!’

Keynote: Highmark Health, Pittsburgh – The Future of Group Benefit Wellness and Insurance Policies
This is one of the leading players in the healthcare insurance and group benefits market in Ohio, and they invited me in for a talk on the future of healthcare. In attendance were senior executives, HR and benefits managers for major employers throughout the region.
While political volatile rages, the science and technology of healthcare isn’t slow down, and I put some context on the transformative trends that can redefine our approach to some of the more complex issues of our time. Highmark is part of the Blue Cross group, and I’ve keynoted at least 15 other Blue Cross events over the last 15 years.
I didn’t have a picture of the stage, but did get this great photo during my morning walk in the City of Bridges. That’s their HQ in the background!
