“Relax! Be patient with your pace of progress!” – #Futurist Jim Carroll
My left leg is a bit mixed up, and it will be kind of fun since I’ll do at least 10,000 steps this morning in my first keynote of the season. I’m down at the Terramea Resort in Long Beach, California, where I’ll speak to the leadership team of one of the largest health care insurers in the country.
The leg issue probably comes from the 20,000 steps I’ve been doing at the golf course each day. Good thing I’m cutting my walking in 1/2. LOL.
It’s actually better this morning than it was yesterday, but it also gave me the source idea for this mornings quote. All of us are impatient; we’re all in a hurry.
Those of us with ideas that can shatter convention and disrupt routine want to see things happen. And then we run into the sclerosis that slows down progress, kills initiative, and challenges our efforts. We wallow in frustration.
Patience, in our case, is not our virtue. So too it is with my leg – I want to get back to the golf course, back to the gym, and back into my routine of squeezing life in between keynotes. I’ve got one day at home before I head down to Philly to headline a corporate awards show. Hurry up leg! Hurry up progress!
So maybe I need to learn from my own observations …
