Do you feel overwhelmed by how fast the world around you is changing? Lots of people do - the pace of new trends can be overwhelming. That’s a common sentiment I’m often hearing from my clients as well: “there’s just too much going on!” And I feel it too - my job is to keep track of future trends and interpret what they mean, and that has become more of a challenge, even trough the last year or two. That’s because the science behind the future continues to speed up, and the way in which the global hive-mind accelerates the ideas behind the science happens faster.
Take the idea of V2G or vehicle to grid connectivity, a trend in which your car battery becomes a part of the energy grid, storing excess solar and wind power from your community as well as your energy company.
It’s a trend that is picking up speed, and even though I’ve spoken to numerous energy conferences and events in the last year, I’ll admit that I completely missed it.
That’s because it is but one trend of many dozens of innovative ideas occurring in this single industry.
The future is happening fast, and it’s all around you. The greatest challenge can sometimes be where to look.
Or, by realizing that increasingly, there are people who are regularly making the impossible possible; the inconceivable conceivable, the unattainable, attainable.
