When you’ve been on stage for 25 years in a very unique career – there’s still a special thrill that comes from a Las Vegas stage.

You know that old saying – if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere!

This photo is from my keynote yesterday for the National Fire Protection Association annual conference; it’s but a small part of the stage.

What you don’t see are the 3,000 people who showed up for the opening general session, with my talk focusing on the ‘future of fire risk.’ I’ll often speak of the need to think big and bold when it comes to the future, and so this mornings quote was a natural based upon the fun time I had yesterday. It’s a big stage – and it required some bold delivery.

You should adopt the same type of thinking in your personal and business life.

Don’t hold yourself back on what you think you can accomplish – and then when you can, take the big steps that will help to get you there!

On the screen is the perfect example of bold thinking – the Medical Tricorder challenge from the X-Prize Foundation – an example of how to spur on creative thinking and bold actions to spur on the development of a device from StarTrek in the 23rd century, for use in the 21st century.

I often hold it out as an example of the type of big, bold thinking that surrounds us today.
