In the last two weeks, two people who are close to me have launched into wonderful new career positions, and I’ve been watching with interest, and supporting them when I can

Both have experienced the common apprehension and nervousness that comes with a new situation – going into the unknown is always a daunting experience! But in my mind, walking into tomorrow is very much a process of feeding your mind with the belief and confidence that you have what it takes. Confidence is key!

I wrote this in a message I sent yesterday.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow. You’ll do an awesome job! Be confident in your material – you know your stuff. Be confident in your delivery – since you know your stuff, you know how to express it and get it across. Be confident in the fact that this is just step 1 in your journey, and if gives you a little bit of unease today, you’ll get over that pretty soon. Be confident in the importance of your effort. Be confident that we’re all so wonderfully proud of you and your journey! It’s going to be an awesome day! Super proud! Be confident!

Be confident!

Confidence is a precious resource, and it is very much a necessity when heading into the uncertainties of tomorrow. Tomorrow is all about change, and you’ve got to embrace that change with conviction, and the certainty that you have what it takes. Going into something new is always a risk, and you’ve got to have confidence that you can succeed. It involves stepping out of your comfort zone, but discomfort is often the only path forward. It’s enhancing your attitude with the confidence that you can learn from any mistakes you might make along the way.

Confidence – it’s often your most precious resource.
