The article I wrote for a variety of association executive publications throughout North America is getting quite a bit of attention; it examines how careers will evolve in the future as a result of the information explosion now occurring. Among the observations, the article notes that we wills witness :a change in the very nature of professional skillsan increased need for "multi-skilling"greater demand for "just in time skills"a shift from tactical to strategic skills The article also quotes an Australian report that suggests that "65% of the children who are in pre-school today will work in jobs and careers that have yet to be defined." It makes for compelling reading -- find it here The article ties into the career planning workshops I've been providing to organizations eager to grapple with the complexities of change in the workplace.
