“Breaking News! Tomorrow’s opportunities are still out there! What are you doing at this very moment to be a part of them?” – Futurist Jim Carroll

Who would have thought it could be so much fun to have a home broadcast studio! I get to design a new show any moment I want to!

Yesterday’s ‘show’ was about the fact that I was witnessing a sudden flood of traffic to a particular Web page on my site – 20 Trends into 2030: Are You Ready for the Massive Transformation of Just About Everything. You can find it at https://2030.jimcarroll.com

It’s an overview of the key manner by which a wide variety of different industries are undergoing rapid and relentless change ; I pulled it together about a year ago, based on a lot of the material I had been using on stage in these twenty industries.

If you don’t know how your industry is going to change, you should – and so you should hit the document.

20 Trends into 2030: Are You Ready for the Massive Transformation of Just About Everything?

Yesterday morning, I noticed a particular organization starting to hit this page pretty hard – I have pretty good Web traffic analytics. This tells me that people in this organization might be moving past the ‘shock and awe’ stage of Covid-19 and the pandemic, and are once again back to figuring out their longer term strategy.

Aren’t organizations always thinking long term? Not at all – my work during the downturn of 2002, and again during 2009, told me that many global Fortune 1000 organizations, as well as small and medium sized companies, simply put long term planning to the side while managing short term complexity. In addition, many begin to defer any analysis or decisions that they might need to make to align to that future – I call that aggressive indecision.

I covered all of these topics in the show – a concise overview of the ‘breaking news’ of the day, and what we can learn from it!
