“It’s when you master new, small skills that you know that one day, bigger opportunities might yet emerge!” – Futurist Jim Carroll
The major excitement this weekend – aside from a brief taste of spring – was that I figured out how to do a multi-camera, split-screen, screen toggle and picture-in-picture setup in my home broadcast studio!
I’ll take that as a win right now!
I’ll put the video up on my blog after this post, but this seemingly small project provides big potential: it leads me to the point where I can easily support a professional level Skype interview from my studio, with, for example, a backdrop of my home city. (I’m actually in a suburban city next to Toronto, but why confuse things…)
Every project I take on seems to offer some new insight. The key lesson for me from this one?
Every little thing I do right now has the potential to be a bigger thing later on.
And so while my small family circle might laugh at the amount of time I spend on such a small effort, I know it will pay dividends in the long run!
