“You are already living in a world that would have seemed to be the stuff of science fiction just a few short years ago!” – Futurist  Jim Carroll

I love a great stage! This one was epic! It’s from a global leadership meeting for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines – they brought together their top executives from all over the world. They engaged me to come in and challenge them with ’25 Trends for 2025’, and insight into some of the main drivers for growth opportunity in the future. (I’m way down there in the middle of the stage if you want to find me…) It used to be that corporate groups would have a leadership meeting, and bring their team together to a crummy little conference room. The setup consisted of a riser, a podium, a faulty microphone, and an LCD screen. Then they would have a bunch of internal executives drone on about the same old story with the same old tired messages in the same old way.

The goal of the meeting was to motivate and inspire their leadership team, but with a setup like this, people kind of fell asleep.

No longer! In the last 5 years, I’ve seen corporate groups step up to the plate with awesome stages, amazing setups at fabulous venues. They are ditching the drone-like internal leadership executives to deliver a message, and instead are investing in a variety of external experts and speakers.

Their people? Fired up! Ready to go!

Back to the picture – my Jetsons theme works so well for my stage opening, and in fact is in demand as a topic, because it is powerful way to remind people that if they though the future was far away, it isn’t.

Plus, much of the audience is hungover, so I have to work hard to grab their attention in the first few minutes!
