So I got fitted for new golf clubs.
Of course, with that process, came a thought process that led to today’s motivational quote! I’m a late stage golfer, starting in my late 40’s, which makes it all the more remarkable that the PGA of America has had me in twice for high profile events; the first, to open their annual general meeting, and the second time, to keynote their massive merchandise show in Orlando.
It seems that my passion for the game, combined with my insight on the future and innovation, made me the perfect guy to get the sport thinking as to how to challenge their thinking to realign to growth! Back to the clubs – my original set came when I joined my home club at Credit Valley in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I was fitted for them by the late Jerry Anderson, a PGA Tour professional who established a variety of records on the European tour! His focus, I think, was to give something to this new hack golfer a tool that would establish more control over a wayward shot.  But over 7 years, my game has improved, and they had worn out their welcome. It was time! So far, I’ve only been fitted for the irons – in my case, #Titleist AP3’s. Out on the range, they were consistently giving me a straight, high hit with 30-40 yards gain on my 7-iron. Wow!  I’m looking forward to my first round with the new clubs – and you should be looking forward to a new future once you adopt a mindset (part of your toolbox) for future success!
