Part of my “26 Principles, Revisited” series — checking my own math, nine months into the year I predicted. Don't 'learn' AI. Redesign your personal productivity around it. Day 23’s argument: treating AI as one more tool to learn misses the point. The real shift is redesigning your entire workflow around a genuine AI partnership, not bolting AI onto an unchanged process. The adoption curve validated the urgency: roughly 40% of enterprise applications are expected to embed task-specific AI agents by the end of 2026, up from under 5% the year before — genuinely exponential. But the same data shows only about a quarter of organizations are actually scaling that partnership past the pilot stage, and over 40% of agentic projects are at real risk of cancellation. Redesigning around AI, it turns out, was the easy part to say and the hard part to actually do. Verdict: Right call, badly executed by most — the redesign is still mostly unfinished business. Next up: Principle #24, Trust Capital — revisited.
