Part of my “26 Principles, Revisited” series — checking my own math, nine months into the year I predicted. Don't fear the chaos. Feed on it. Day 18 argued for building yourself, your team, or your organization to actually gain strength from disorder — not just survive volatility, but treat it as fuel. 2026 kept supplying the volatility to test it: tariff shifts, geopolitical realignment, and sudden swings in capital flows toward infrastructure and energy all rewarded the organizations positioned to move on the opportunity a disruption creates, rather than just brace for the damage. I wrote about exactly this dynamic playing out around the Canada Investment Summit a few weeks ago — volatility didn’t destroy opportunity, it relocated it. Verdict: Held up — and I got to watch it happen in real time this fall. Next up: Principle #19, Optionality Architecture — revisited.
