Part of my “26 Principles, Revisited” series — checking my own math, nine months into the year I predicted. To move fast, you don't need more gas. You need less drag. Day 11 called accumulated organizational complexity — extra approval layers, redundant meetings, process built to manage a risk nobody remembers — “organizational cholesterol.” The fix wasn’t adding agility on top. It was subtracting the drag underneath it. This is the principle 2026’s AI rollout data validates almost word for word. Research into stalled corporate AI pilots — and the number cited is a startling 95% — points to a consistent root cause: poor integration with legacy workflows, not any inherent flaw in the models themselves. Companies bolted AI onto un-pruned complexity instead of subtracting the complexity first. Exactly the mistake this principle warned about. Verdict: Nailed it — almost uncomfortably precisely. Next up: Principle #12, Strategic Humility — revisited.
