Part of my “26 Principles, Revisited” series — checking my own math, nine months into the year I predicted. Don't protect your knowledge; connect it. Day 10’s claim: your internal team, however good, was assembled for yesterday’s 10% goals, not today’s 10x ones. Speed now comes from how fast you connect to external knowledge — partners, open networks, fringe communities — not from what you hoard. Nine months on, the open AI ecosystem only got denser — more open-weight models, more API-driven tooling, more communities moving faster than any single internal lab could match alone. The fastest-moving teams in 2026 are still the best-connected ones, not the best-funded fortress. Verdict: Nailed it — the network kept out-innovating the fortress. Next up: Principle #11, Radical Subtraction — revisited.
