# Remembering September 11, 2001

On September 11, 2001, I was in my home office. I was alerted to the first tower; I saw the second plane go into tower 2. I might not have been at home. I've always remembered that a tech company had inquired of me for a keynote on a road show with six cities - including New Jersey on September 11, and then off to California. The notes are still in my old daytime/scheduling journal. It's kind of chilling to see. I'm glad I didn't get the gig. Just a few weeks after, I spoke at the Quality Assurance Institute (QAI) Canada (Sept 26, 2001) in Toronto. And I vividly remember the opening moments before my opening keynote, where the head organizer asked for a moment of silence, as one of the other presenters had died in the tragedy; I don't remember if she was in one of the planes or one of the towers. It was chilling. Vivid. Powerful. Sad. My heart goes out to all the families of everyone impacted.
