What I'm about to tell you is critical for navigating the sheer velocity of change we're experiencing. I'm 19 posts into writing my 30 Megatrends series, and the feedback I'm getting from a lot of people is that they feel overwhelmed by the sheer pace of change. And with that comes one simple reality - what you've done in the past, your legacy, frankly, doesn't matter anymore. We're in a situation where our ability to align with the future isn't defined by past success, but by speed, agility, and flexibility. Consider this: we are on the precipice of an era unlike any we've seen. The opportunities of the future will emerge from companies that do not yet exist, building products not yet conceived, with ideas not yet imagined, utilizing materials not yet in existence, and methodologies yet to be defined. This isn't just a slight shift; it's the dawn of explosive growth, new companies, new opportunities, new strategies, and entirely new forms of business and disruption. The future truly belongs to those who are fast. I often share Bill Gates' profound observation because it puts things into perspective: most people tend to overestimate the rate of change that will occur over two years, yet we dramatically underestimate how much change will occur over ten years. I want you to truly think about where you are going to be in the year 2030, or even 2035, and how you can turn these very real trends, unfolding at blinding speed, into tangible opportunities. It’s easy to put on blinders and ignore that your industry, in particular, is due to be challenged in very fundamental ways. The challenges are vast, the trends significant, and the speed staggering, and it's natural to feel overwhelmed by this fast-paced future. But here's the fundamental choice facing all of us: when you see the future, do you see a threat? Or, like true innovators, do you see an opportunity? The future is going to happen whether you like it or not. These trends will unfold, business models will be disrupted, change will happen, skills will accelerate, and things will speed up. My message to you is simple, and it's actionable: • Think big. • Start small. • And most importantly, scale fast. The choice is clear and directly in front of you: change your future before the future changes you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_6zCv8HzVM
