# Event Highlight: Jenius Bank — Banking Was No Longer a Place. It Was Becoming Software.

My session with Jenius Bank focused on one of the most important shifts underway in financial services: Banking is no longer primarily a place. It is becoming software. That idea shaped my keynote, “Future of Banking in the Era of Acceleration.” The traditional bank was organized around branches, products, processes and established channels. The emerging bank is increasingly defined by mobile experiences, APIs, embedded services, real-time decisions and intelligent automation. Customers now expect banking to be intuitive, seamless and always available. They compare their financial experience not only with other banks, but with every other great digital experience in their lives. That raises the competitive stakes enormously. Embedded finance means financial capabilities increasingly appear inside everyday apps, platforms and marketplaces rather than only inside a traditional banking environment. AI and automation are changing personalization, operations and service. Real-time data makes faster onboarding, lending and fraud decisions possible. Open banking and greater connectivity create new opportunities for collaboration and innovation. But there is one thing technology does not make less important: Trust. In fact, the more digital banking becomes, the more important security, privacy, reliability and transparency become. That was an important part of my conversation with Jenius Bank. Becoming more like a software company does not mean abandoning the fundamental promise of banking. It means delivering that promise in entirely new ways. The future of banking is mobile, intelligent, embedded and increasingly instantaneous — but it still needs to be built around trust. The leaders who understand that balance will be in the strongest position. Because the competitive question is no longer simply, “What banking products do we offer?” It is becoming: How quickly can we build the trusted digital experiences through which customers will manage their financial lives?
