“Never stop ‘ideating!’ Because once you do, you’ve stopped innovating” – Futurist Jim Carroll
And with that, “Studio 2” (as I’ve come to call it) will launch later today!
It’s a little section to the side of my home broadcast studio – a chair, Kim’s plant, a few of my books, and some wonderful Philips Hue lights for some very effective backlighting. It provides for a more intimate, closeup shot than the green screen part of the setup (“Studio 1″), and is intended for short, quick video pieces. I’ll film one later today after I return from golf.
I came up with the idea both by looking at the studio setups of the other people using the software I use, as well as thinking through what I might need to accomplish from the studio over the next long stretch of time. I’ve got a tremendous amount of useful video material – my ‘Leadership Insight 2020” series comes to mind – that can be useful to people if they are reframed in the context of dealing with our new pandemic and post-pandemic economy. Rather than a full on green screen effect, they simply might need a little intro from me, the video itself, and a short wrap-up.
And hence, Studio 2!
A shoutout to my wonderful wife who has to put up with the raging intensity of my ideas and my constant need to explore my creative boundaries. With that in mind, I’ll simply share this post I put up from some years back! Challenges were meant to be managed!
And ideating? Yes, it’s a word! I’m also currently winning at Snail Mail Scrabble!
