How does that phrase go? Hope springs eternal!

Hope is the foundation of so much of how you align yourself to your future and turn it into opportunity. It’s the foundation for your optimism, the bedrock on which you place your innovative thinking, and the platform for your enthusiasm.

Without it, you’ll always be off to a rocky start.

Here’s the thing though – in times of volatility and uncertainty, you’ve got to battle on a continuous basis to keep your hope intact. It’s all too easy to fall prey to a swirl of negative thinking — with the result that you can easily lose sight of the fascinating opportunities from what comes next.

Focus on your hopes – and be relentless in your pursuit of them – because obviously, when you lost your hope, you’ve pretty much lost everything.

Hope is actually an undercurrent of many of my talks. In one of my keynote topics (“The Lessons of Powerful Optimism: Rethinking the Future Right Now”) , I describe the future in this fashion:
