“*Instead of saying it can’t be done - do something else!*” - #Futurist Jim Carroll
The easiest thing in the world is to fall into a creative rut; to run out of steam; to recycle your thoughts; to redo things over and over again.
That sets in a mindset of defeat, and the more you try, the worse it gets.
So here’s a secret to successful innovation - do something different altogether!
That will give you a chance to recharge your batteries, shift your focus, and re-aim your efforts.
You’ll probably then discover that when you go back to the original problem that is easily solved.
You might even discover that shifting your focus might lead to an entirely different results.
Take a look at what has happened with ‘accidental innovations’ - new products that resulted entirely by chance. Play-doh, microwave ovens, Super-Glu, Teflon and more - all came about because of a shift in focus!
So if you are stuck in a rut - find a different road!
