“If it’s easier to be a negative influence than a positive role model, what’s your chosen path?” –Futurist Jim Carroll
There’s a lot to unwrap in this reality.
Such as this maxim: it’s usually harder to be a mediocre success than it is to be a spectacular failure! And if that is true, then it is easier for your negative qualities to come through to the surface, than it is for your inherent goodness to shine through.
That’s why it it is often such a difficult process for people to become a role model to others – it’s not easy to always live in a life in which the good qualities come through. Who wants to share their bad side with the world?
And as with everything, a lot of what you do as a role model will involve the attitude you carry around day by day. Even that can be tough – in a world of constant, relentless change, it’s pretty difficult to stay positive all the time! Fact is, being upbeat is hard work!
Even so, those who exude a positive outlook and get others to share in that perspective are those who are usually on the runway to success. Others are drawn to them – people like great energy, a positive mindset and a motivational outlook.
So today? Work harder to get your good side to come out, and keep up the battle against the dark.
You’ll find it works out better in the long run!
