“A show of hands : who will spend their year living a life of endless opportunities and epic possibilities?” – Futurist Jim Carroll
Don’t make resolutions – make transformations! And be relentlessly optimistic about your future and your potential.
Sometimes it can be a struggle! Despite the fact that our promised snowstorm of last night turned to horrifying rain, putting me in an uncharacteristically grumpy mood, I go into 2019 with my belief in the future unchallenged despite the presence of many potential barriers.
How does that phrase go? Accept the things you can change? Ignore the rest?
My good friends reminded me last night of that reality when it came to the pounding rain. There’s not a lot I could do to control it, so why complain about it? But ya, I got a thing about weather. Put the meteorological industry on a ‘pay-for-performance’ model and maybe we would get better forecasts.
Control what you can change? I can’t do much about the global economy, idiotic trade wars that exist for no reason, and battles over walls that is driven by nothing less than mentally unstable deep hate, I can control what I do, where I focus, and place my energies.
I still believe that we live in an unparalleled time that is unlike any other in human history – the acceleration of science, the intelligence of devices, massive connectivity, and so much more. It’s what you and I do with it that matters.
