“Nothing great ever happens inside a comfort zone!” – Futurist Jim Carroll

Change a little! Be different! Do something different today! Where will you start? How about right now!
Sometimes, we just need that extra little motivational kick to get us going.
The photo? Astute observers might notice two things that are different. I’m wearing a tie, and I’m using a handheld microphone. I rarely use either – I’m always just with a jacket/shirt, and always use a wireless lapel/lavalier mike. The tie? It was a very formal event, and I was requested to do so. I borrowed it from my youngest son, since I haven’t worn a real tie in years!

The photo is from an event 1 year ago today – I’,m on stage in Tokyo, speaking at the 100th anniversary celebratory dinner for Nikon!
It was a huge privilege to speak at this event, given the context of the formal dinner at which I spoke. They wanted someone to set a tone that would take them into a successful ‘next 100 years’, and somehow figured out I would be the guy to best give them that message.
Here’s the thing: you won’t get to where you need to be in the next 30 days, the next month, the next year, the next 5 years, the next 10, if you keep on doing what you have been doing. This isn’t a lecture – it’s reality.
If you get trapped in a routine, and don’t have the courage to focus on aligning to big disruptive trends, or necessary changes in behaviour, the results will be inevitable.
But if you make big, bold moves and do so with a lot of worry and concern, you are in a great space!
Hey, it might not work, but you are trying! And it’s better to try than to not do anything at all!
