“Embrace change. Start by making the uncomfortable, comfortable!” - Futurist  Jim Carroll Our air conditioning broke down yesterday! Today’s quote came easily. Anyone want to put up a futurist? LOL. Any of my talks on the future involves a good dose of insight into strategies for coping with change. A lot of what I will cover makes people uncomfortable, because inherently, the future involves a lot of change. Much of it will not pleasant unless you choose to make it so. That’s why I’ve come to front-end load many of my talks with some key observations on change, such as found with this quote. I’ll do so with one of my other favourite phrases: “Some people see a trend and see a threat. Innovators see the same trend and see an opportunity.” If you think about that phrase, that’s a mindset shift. So too is the mindset shift required to cope with change. With that in mind, I figure the best way to deal with a busted A/C system is to get out of the sweltering heat in the house, and get out on a golf course. If it is going to be hot, I might as well enjoy it!
