“If you presume failure at the outset, it’s pretty likely that you will fail!” - Futurist  Jim Carroll Many of the quotes that I put out here each morning - my morning motivational quote has now been running strong for almost 23 months - come from the time I spend on stage. But some reflect my own personal life and activities. And a good number of them come while I’m working out at the gym with my personal trainer. She’ll often suggest a type of exercise or a certain weight to use with one, and then backs off: ‘you probably won’t be able to do it.’ That spurs me on to do it - maybe its her technique! I was thinking of the phrase 2 mornings ago when I set out to climb our local ski hill - we were visiting our chalet for the first time this summer. My record is 17 minutes 53 seconds; I thought that since I hadn’t done it in a while, I wouldn’t succeed with a good pace. I focused on changing that thought - and did it in 20’ 30”. Not bad for the first time out! Attitude and focus is everything!
