“The thing about conventional wisdom is that it is usually wrong!” - Futurist  Jim Carroll "It was Sean Parker, who founded Napster, who said: “I have always chosen to ignore the conventional wisdom in favor of the ideas that interested me.” The conventional wisdom was that CDs would last forever, and that online music streaming would never happen. While Napster's business model didn’t work (!), it did pave the way for a different future! If you follow conventional wisdom, you might not follow your passion — and if you do that, you might not have enough initiative to do something that matters. Do what interests you — not what interests others!’
