Jim Carroll delivered the keynote address to approximately 300 delegates at BOMEX 2013 — the annual conference of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada — held in Halifax, Nova Scotia in October 2013. The talk explored two converging trends that Carroll argued would fundamentally reshape the commercial real estate sector: the radical transformation of retail (and with it, the nature of retail space) and the emergence of intelligent, connected, aware building technology.
