Jim Carroll delivered the keynote address at the UBM Canon Eastern Advanced Manufacturing Expo and Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in June 2013, speaking to a standing-room audience at the co-located MD&M East, EastPack, PLASTEC East, ATX East, and Atlantic Design & Manufacturing shows. The talk, “What Do World Class Innovators Do That Others Don’t Do?” explored the extraordinary pace of transformation coming to manufacturing — from 3D printing and rapid prototyping to intelligent connected packaging, bioconnectivity, and the emergence of medical devices that could communicate directly with clinical systems.
