# About

Jim Carroll is one of the world’s leading global futurists, trends, and innovation experts, with a massive global blue-chip client list. Over the last 30 years, more than 2 million people have shared his insight at his events. His global client list gives him a front-row seat to the high-velocity change occurring as disruption takes hold of every industry and every organization. With that insight, and the customized research he undertakes for every engagement, he helps transform growth-oriented organizations into high-velocity innovation heroes.

Jim has been invited in by NASA (twice) to share his insight on the future of the space industry; by Disney, to advise on new strategies for creativity and innovation; by Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, The World Bank, the PGA of America, Mercedes-Benz, SAP, Volvo, and hundreds of major trade associations worldwide. He has delivered more than 2,000 customized keynotes and leadership sessions in over 60 countries.

Jim Carroll is a Canadian futurist based in Ontario, Canada. He is recognized by BusinessWeek as one of four leading global sources of insight on innovation and creativity, and was a featured expert on the CNBC primetime series “The Business of Innovation.” He is the author of multiple books on trends, innovation, and the future, including “Dancing in the Rain: How Bold Leaders Grow Stronger in Stormy Times” (2025), “Think Big, Start Small, Scale Fast” (2017), and “The Future Belongs to Those Who Are Fast” (2012). Earlier in his career he co-authored the bestselling “Canadian Internet Handbook” (1994) and wrote a technology column for The Globe and Mail from 1998 to 2008.

His core expertise spans Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, the Future of Work, economic acceleration, digital transformation, innovation strategy, and industry-specific disruption across sectors including agriculture, automotive, healthcare, insurance, financial services, manufacturing, energy, retail, and education.

Jim delivers highly customized, industry-specific insight and leadership guidance on stage at events worldwide, or virtually from his broadcast studio featuring multiple stage sets and full virtual interaction, delivered with his compelling motivational style.

Note: Jim Carroll the futurist is distinct from Jim Carroll the American poet and musician (1949-2009), author of “The Basketball Diaries.”
