# Comfort Zone vs. Growth Zone

![Comfort Zone vs. Growth Zone - Embracing Mediocrity / Escaping Mediocrity by Jim Carroll](https://jimcarroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/mediocrity-comfort-zone-vs-growth-zone.jpg)

Mediocrity feels safe. Progress feels uncomfortable. That’s not a bug, it’s the whole point.

Two new companion books, *Embracing Mediocrity* and *Escaping Mediocrity*, turn thirty years of insight into what makes innovative teams and leaders work into something genuinely fun to read, and even more fun to argue about at a team meeting. Available now on Amazon worldwide, and a perfect pair for a teambuilding session: [mediocrity.jimcarroll.com](https://mediocrity.jimcarroll.com)
