The future of construction seems to be a bit of a theme this fall.

One of the events I’ve got coming up is a talk in Arizona for an event put on by Chain Store Age magazine, where I’ll speak to the trends involving the future of the industry specifically in the retail space.

“This three-day, by-invitation-only event brings together top retailers and suppliers — involved in store planning, design, construction and facilities management — in an informal setting designed to educate, inspire, foster networking and best practice-sharing, and build business partnerships.”

The client was originally looking at me for a keynote focused on the evolving role of AI in construction, but the issues I began to cover in our planning call went far beyond AI, and so they were excited to broaden the topic. It’s all around the rapid emergence of new construction methodologies, new materials, the accelerating of renewable and energy grid technology, smart buildings, the next-generation workforce, and much more. Real trends that will impact the retail and construction sector in a significant way.
