# Keynote Case Study: Legrand: Buildings Were Becoming Connected, Intelligent and Software-Driven.

For Legrand, I delivered a keynote on the future of intelligent buildings, electrification, connected infrastructure and accelerating technological change, showing how building systems are evolving into data-rich platforms for efficiency, safety and growth.

The keynote, *“The Future of Smart Buildings and Connected Infrastructure,”* Leaders had to rethink how digital technology, energy systems and connected devices were reshaping the built environment.

Six trends are shaping that shift.

- **Intelligent Buildings.** Buildings are becoming data-rich platforms.

- **Electrification.** Power systems are being redesigned for efficiency and resilience.

- **Connected Infrastructure.** More building systems are networked and manageable in real time.

- **Energy Management.** Digital energy tools are improving performance and sustainability.

- **Health + Safety.** Smart environments are enhancing occupant experience and protection.

- **Software-Defined Facilities.** The built environment is increasingly managed through software and analytics.

The future of buildings is connected, electrified, intelligent and data-driven.

Every wall, panel and power system in a modern building is becoming a data point — and the organizations that treat their buildings as platforms, not just structures, are the ones pulling ahead. You can explore more [keynote case studies here](https://jimcarroll.com/tag/case-studies/).
